Packaging

Before First Use

1. Open the charging case lid and remove the earbuds.
2. Remove the protective film from the contact points.
3. Place both earbuds back into the charging case.
4. Close and then reopen the lid to start pairing.

Wearing

• Remove the earbuds from the charging case and insert them into your ears according to the “left” (L) and “right” (R) markings.

• Gently insert the earbud into the ear canal, then adjust it into a comfortable position.

• During calls, ensure that the microphone is directed towards your mouth for clearer voice transmission.

(i) Note: The earbuds come pre-fitted with size M tips. If you feel discomfort, please change to size L or S for a better fit.

(i) Caution: After use, place the earbuds back into the charging case. This will extend their lifespan and help prevent loss.

Charging

Charging the Earbuds

When placed in the charging case, the earbuds will automatically begin charging.

Charging the Case

Use the Type-C charging cable to charge both the earbuds in the case and the charging case itself. The charging case indicator remains white while charging and turns off once fully charged.

Powering On

Make sure that the battery of the earbuds and the charging case is not discharged.

Open the charging case lid, and the earbuds will power on automatically.

Powering Off

• Ensure the charging case battery is not discharged. Place both earbuds back into the charging case and close the lid. They will automatically disconnect and begin charging, and after a full charge, they will power off automatically.

• When powered on and removed from the charging case, the earbuds automatically power off after about 1 hour if they remain disconnected from a device without any actions (such as being worn or returned to the case).

Bluetooth Connection

First-Time Pairing

For the first use, place both earbuds in the charging case and close the lid. Reopen the lid, and the charging case indicator will slowly flash white for about 1 minute.

During this time, enable Bluetooth on your phone, then find and tap "Redmi Buds 4" to connect the earbuds.

If the earbuds are successfully connected, the charging case indicator will turn off after 7 seconds; otherwise, it will automatically turn off after slowly flashing for 1 minute.

(i) Note: If the earbuds cannot connect, close and reopen the lid, then repeat the steps above.

Connecting to Other Devices

Make sure the charging case battery is not depleted, then place both earbuds in the case.

Do not close the lid, press and hold the charging case button for 2 seconds until the indicator starts flashing.

You can now search for the earbuds via Bluetooth on the new device and connect.

After pairing, any previously connected device can reconnect by selecting the earbuds from its connection history. Once reconnected, the earbuds will disconnect from the current device they were connected to.

Automatic Connection

With the earbuds in the charging case, opening the lid will automatically reconnect them to the last paired Bluetooth device.

If the earbuds fail to connect to a Bluetooth device, they will automatically enter low-power mode.

Connection Interruption

The earbuds will disconnect from the device when the device is out of range, when Bluetooth is disabled, or when both earbuds are placed in the charging case with the lid closed.

Factory Reset

1. Place the earbuds in the charging case.

2. Methods:

Method 1: Close the charging case lid. Press and hold the charging case button for about 10 seconds until the indicator lights up for about 3 seconds and then turns off.

Method 2: Open the charging case lid. Press and hold the charging case button for about 10 seconds until the indicator lights up for about 3 seconds, then starts flashing slowly.

The earbuds have been reset to factory settings. Connection history is cleared, and the earbuds are ready for pairing.

(i) Note: Due to Bluetooth specifications, in areas with strong electromagnetic interference at 2.4 GHz, connection or sound may occasionally be lost.

Function Overview

(i) Note: In cold weather, when your hands are dry, the earbuds may not respond to touch.

1. Multifunctional touch area

Incoming Calls

Double-tap the touch area on either earbud: answer/end a call
Triple-tap either earbud: reject a call

Music Playback

When wearing both earbuds:
Double-tap either earbud: pause/play music
Triple-tap either earbud: next track

Remove either earbud: pause music playback / put the earbud back within 120 seconds to resume playback.

Noise Cancellation / Transparency Mode

When wearing both earbuds, press and hold either earbud to switch between: Noise Cancellation Mode – Transparency Mode

Using the Application

The built-in functions of the Xiaomi Redmi Buds 4 can be accessed through the application after connecting the earbuds to the phone via Bluetooth.

Scan the QR code to download the application. Download the Xiaomi Earbuds app to configure noise cancellation and touch controls for the Redmi Buds 4 wireless earbuds. You can customize the settings for optimal sound and install online firmware updates.

Connecting via the Application

Quick Connection

1. Download and open the application.

2. Place the earbuds in the charging case and close the lid. Ensure your phone is unlocked with Bluetooth enabled, then bring it close to the charging case. Open the case lid and follow the on-screen instructions to connect the earbuds.

(i) Note: After connecting, you can use the application to update the earbuds’ firmware.

Examples of Commonly Used Functions

After connecting to the mobile application, press and hold the multifunctional touch area on either earbud (set “press and hold” as the voice assistant activator in the app) to activate the AI voice assistant, which can help you perform tasks by voice.

• Set an alarm for 8:00 tomorrow morning.
• Pause.
• Please speak louder.
• What is the weather today?
• How do I say "thank you" in French?
