EGSM (Extended GSM) is the extended GSM-900 standard, which uses a wider frequency range for data transmission. In some countries, the GSM-900 frequency band was expanded to 880–915 ÌÃö (MS > BTS) and 925–960 MHz (MS < BTS), increasing the maximum number of communication channels by 50. This modification was called E-GSM (Extended GSM).
The EGSM standard requires the use of special subscriber mobile devices and corresponding base station equipment from the operator.
