TETRA - Terrestrial Trunked Radio. Glossary of radio communication terms and abbreviations

TETRA (Terrestrial Trunked Radio) is an open standard developed by ETSI to meet the needs of the most demanding professional mobile radio users in both business sectors and governmental organizations. TETRA networks provide integrated communication services, including two-way radio, cellular communication, paging, and data transmission. A user can connect with a single individual or hundreds of people with just one button press. The TETRA Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was established in 1994 to create a forum operating in the interests of all stakeholders, representing users, manufacturers, operators, testing organizations, and telecommunications agencies.
