TRI MURAVYA diesel air heater operating instructions and FAQ

Frequently asked questions about TRI MURAVYA self-contained diesel heaters

Models, design, and supplied equipment

What is a TRI MURAVYA diesel heater, and how does it work?

TRI MURAVYA is a brand of self-contained diesel air heaters manufactured in China. These devices are also referred to as "dry air heaters", "independent heaters", or "diesel stoves". The range includes heaters with declared heat outputs of 8 kW (8000 W) and 9.8 kW (9800 W).

Heat is generated by burning liquid fuel in a combustion chamber. A fan forces air through the air heating heat exchanger, after which the heated flow enters the space being heated. Combustion products are removed through a separate exhaust system.

Electricity is required for the glow plug, fan, fuel pump, and electronic control unit. After starting, diesel fuel remains the main source of thermal energy. The heater operates independently of the vehicle engine but requires a continuous electrical supply.

This is an air heating system. Connection to the engine liquid cooling circuit is not required, and these heaters are not designed to provide liquid engine preheating before starting.

.

Where can TRI MURAVYA self-contained heaters be used?

The heaters are intended to heat air in passenger cars, trucks, buses, motorhomes, camper vans, garages, workshops, site cabins, greenhouses, tents, boats, and small buildings.

In a vehicle, the heater can operate with the engine switched off, using the onboard battery. In stationary premises, power is supplied from a suitable battery or a 220 V mains supply through the power system provided for the corresponding version.

Every installation requires safe exhaust gas discharge outdoors, a combustion air supply, unobstructed circulation of the air being heated, and protection of surrounding objects from hot installation components.

Which TRI MURAVYA 8 kW versions are available?

The main 8 kW heater range includes four versions:

The listed versions provide for 12, 24, or 220 V power. The electronic control panel has an LCD. Versions with four nozzles are designed to connect several warm air delivery routes.

A separate camouflage 8 kW version with one nozzle, a metal housing, and a metal outlet connection 80 mm in diameter is also available. Its connection component dimensions and electrical consumption range of 15-90 W are specified separately.

Bluetooth is not declared for the listed 8 kW versions.

How do the TRI MURAVYA 9.8 kW versions differ?

The 9.8 kW range includes two main versions with four aluminium outlet nozzles and built-in Bluetooth:

Both versions are designed for 12/24/220 V power and have an electronic panel with an LCD. Smartphone control via Bluetooth is provided.

These versions are specified with dimensions of 480 × 250 × 320 mm, a weight of 8 kg, and an integrated 5 L fuel tank. The housing is made of metal and plastic. Electronic overheating protection is also declared for the 9.8 kW series.

.

What are the purposes of one and four outlet nozzles?

The single-nozzle version delivers the main heated air flow in one direction. This design is suitable for heating one room or connecting one main air duct.

Four nozzles are intended to distribute air between several zones. Flexible air ducts connected to them can direct heat to different parts of a garage, workshop, site cabin, or other space.

When connecting several passages, maintain a sufficient total flow cross-section. Narrowed or pinched ducts and blocked outlets increase airflow resistance and impair heat exchanger cooling.

The permissible number of completely blocked nozzles has not been established for the versions considered. The diameter of an individual connection on the four-nozzle versions is also unspecified. Select adapters and distributors according to the actual connection dimensions.

What is supplied with the four-nozzle heaters?

The TRI MURAVYA 8 kW versions with four aluminium nozzles include an electronic panel with an LCD, a remote control of the corresponding type, flexible air ducts, an exhaust pipe, a muffler, a coarse fuel filter, mounting hardware, and connecting wires.

Spare components and a set of installation feet are additionally listed for the 8 kW version with four nozzles and a feedback remote control.

The supplied equipment for the 9.8 kW version with feedback includes four aluminium nozzles, flexible warm air ducts, a separate combustion air intake tube, an exhaust pipe, a muffler, an air filter, mounting clamps, a display, a remote control, a Bluetooth module, wires, and spare components.

The heating air ducts and combustion chamber air intake tube serve different purposes and connect to their corresponding fittings.

What are the features of the TRI MURAVYA camouflage 8 kW heater?

The camouflage version has a metal housing and one metal outlet nozzle 80 mm in diameter. It is supplied with a flexible warm air duct, a combustion air intake tube, an exhaust pipe, a muffler, mounting clamps, a remote control, battery wires, and spare components.

Connection component dimensions:

The declared specifications are 12/24/220 V power, electrical consumption of 15-90 W, fuel consumption of 150-500 mL/h, and an operating ambient temperature from -40 to +40 °C.

These dimensions and consumption range apply specifically to the camouflage version. They may differ for other models.

.

Power, fuel, and heating efficiency

What fuel is used in TRI MURAVYA heaters?

Diesel is the primary fuel for TRI MURAVYA heaters. The ability to use kerosene is additionally declared for the 8 kW range.

However, requirements for the kerosene grade, lubricating properties, permissible impurities, and mixing with diesel fuel have not been established. Clean seasonal diesel fuel suitable for the ambient temperature is recommended for prolonged operation.

Fuel properties at low temperatures are particularly important below freezing. Thickening or wax deposits may impair delivery through the filter and pump, make starting difficult, and cause unstable combustion.

How much diesel fuel does a TRI MURAVYA 8 kW heater consume?

An approximate consumption range of 0.15 to 0.50 L/h is specified for the 8 kW range. Consumption depends on the selected output, metering fuel pump operating frequency, and actual burner condition.

An equivalent range of 150-500 mL/h is specified for the camouflage version. These values apply to the 8 kW range and do not mean that every unit necessarily consumes the stated amount of fuel in the corresponding mode.

What is the fuel consumption of the TRI MURAVYA 9.8 kW, and how long does a tank last?

Diesel fuel consumption of 0.19 to 0.60 L/h is declared for the 9.8 kW heater with an integrated 5 L tank. Some specifications state a maximum consumption of 0.47 L/h.

If the entire 5 L of fuel is used, the calculated continuous operating duration is:

This is a theoretical calculation that does not account for residual fuel in the tank, starting characteristics, or output changes during operation. In temperature maintenance mode, average consumption is determined by the room heat losses and the control algorithm.

.

Do the heaters actually deliver heat outputs of 8 and 9.8 kW?

The values of 8 kW and 9.8 kW are declared heat outputs. Actual useful output must be distinguished from the model designation and assessed using real fuel consumption, fuel calorific value, and energy losses through the exhaust gases.

For the TRI MURAVYA 9.8 kW, at a maximum consumption of 0.47 L/h and a diesel fuel calorific value of approximately 42.7 MJ/kg, the calculated combustion power is approximately 4.7 kW. Useful output allowing for exhaust losses may be around 4 kW. This is a calculated estimate rather than a direct measurement of heat transfer to the air.

At a consumption of 0.60 L/h, the energy calculation produces a different value; actual consumption of the particular heater must therefore be measured for a reliable assessment.

Similarly, at a diesel fuel consumption of 0.50 L/h, the chemical combustion power is approximately 5 kW, and the useful heat output will be lower.

Thus, calculation based on the stated fuel consumption does not confirm the declared 8 and 9.8 kW as directly measured useful heat outputs.

How does the heat output of the 8 and 9.8 kW heaters differ?

The 9.8 kW modification is described as a version with a more intensive heated air flow. Output differences are attributed in part to fan operation and the quantity of air passing through the heat exchanger.

An approximate temperature of 200 °C in the heating zone is reported for both series. The measurement point and operating conditions for this figure are unspecified. It cannot be used as a guaranteed air temperature at the outlet nozzles.

Measured airflow values in m³/h are unavailable for each version. These data therefore do not permit a quantitative comparison of the fans and actual heat transfer of the 8 and 9.8 kW models.

What floor area can the TRI MURAVYA 8 and 9.8 kW heaters heat?

A heated floor area of up to 30-40 m² is generally stated for the 8 kW series. For a well insulated room, a guideline of up to 50 m² is given.

Figures of up to 50 m² and up to 60 m² are reported for the 9.8 kW model, rising to up to 70 m² for rooms with particularly good thermal insulation.

These figures are guidelines rather than guaranteed heated floor areas. Actual performance depends on ceiling height, outdoor temperature, insulation quality, room volume, glazing area, ventilation, and heat losses through doors and building structures.

When selecting a heater, determine the required heat output from the room heat losses. Improving insulation reduces operating time at high output and fuel consumption.

.

What room temperatures correspond to the minimum, medium, and maximum modes?

The following approximate room temperature examples are given for the 8 kW heaters:

These are examples of heating conditions rather than fixed temperature specifications for the modes. The same mode can produce different temperatures depending on insulation, outdoor weather, room volume, and operating duration.

Where climate control is available, the corresponding control mode is used to maintain the set temperature. At constant output, fuel consumption is determined by the selected fuel delivery rate.

How long can a diesel heater take to warm a garage in winter?

The following approximate example is given for an insulated garage with a volume of 20-24 m³: at an outdoor temperature of -20 °C, the indoor air may warm to +12...+15 °C in approximately 2-3 hours.

This is an example for a small insulated space, rather than a measured warm-up rate for a particular TRI MURAVYA unit.

In an uninsulated garage at a similar outdoor temperature, heat losses may be substantially higher. Reaching the same indoor temperature will require more time or may be impossible with the available useful heater output.

For a garage, workshop, or site cabin with a floor area of 30-50 m², insulation of the ceiling, doors, walls, and floor, together with provision of the required air exchange, is particularly important.

Is the TRI MURAVYA 9.8 kW suitable for protecting a greenhouse from frost?

The 9.8 kW heater can be used to heat a greenhouse provided that installation is safe and actual heat output is sufficient.

One application involves protecting a grape greenhouse with a volume of approximately 50 m³ from spring and autumn overnight frosts. A preliminary calculation for a brief outdoor temperature drop to -5 °C indicated a requirement of approximately 3 kW of heat output.

A previously used 1.5 kW electric heater, together with a system circulating air through pipes laid in the soil, was unable to maintain a temperature above freezing near the grape shoots at an outdoor temperature of -2 °C.

A portable stand made from metal box section was fabricated for the diesel heater. At the time of the described application, the effectiveness of the new installation during the specified frosts had not yet been tested.

When arranging such heating, monitor the temperature near the plants, discharge combustion products outside the greenhouse, and allow for sufficient electrical energy for continuous operation.

.

Can the heater be used for occasional heating of a country house?

The TRI MURAVYA 9.8 kW is also used for occasional heating of country house rooms, including during weekend visits.

In one case, a trial start was successful, after which the device delivered an intensive flow of warm air. The room dimensions, outdoor temperature, power mode, and actual warm-up rate in this case were not determined.

Regular heating arrangements must take account of the diesel fuel reserve, electrical supply availability, room insulation, and safe exhaust system placement.

Power supply and connection

What supply voltages do TRI MURAVYA heaters use?

The listed 8 and 9.8 kW versions provide for electrical supply options of 12, 24, and 220 V.

The type and specifications of the built-in or external 220 V converter have not been established separately for each modification. Select the connection method according to the wiring diagram of the version actually installed.

When operating from a battery, the vehicle engine may remain switched off. Independent operating duration is determined by both the fuel reserve and the available battery energy.

How does an electrical power rating of 40 W differ from a heat output of 8000 or 9800 W?

The electrical power rating of 40 W describes consumption by the heater electrical components in the corresponding operating mode. The heat output of 8000 or 9800 W refers to the declared thermal energy obtained by burning fuel.

At a consumption of 40 W, the calculated current is:

The glow plug is activated during starting, so the electrical starting current may substantially exceed the steady operating current.

An electrical consumption range of 15-90 W is specified separately for the camouflage 8 kW version. It does not confirm the maximum power required while the glow plug is operating. The values of 40 W and 15-90 W apply to different versions or operating conditions and must be considered separately.

.

How should the heater be connected to a 12 V battery?

Use wires of sufficient cross-section, observe polarity, and install a suitable fuse. A copper supply wire cross-section of at least 2.5 mm² is given as a guideline for heaters in this series.

Recommended sequence:

  1. Check that the battery voltage meets the requirements of the particular heater version.
  2. Prepare supply wires of sufficient cross-section, allowing for the cable run length.
  3. Install a suitably rated fuse in the supply circuit.
  4. Connect the wires, observing the specified polarity.
  5. Check that terminals are secure, insulation is undamaged, and contacts do not overheat.
  6. Ensure that the battery can supply the required glow plug starting current.

When selecting an external electrical power source, allow for the maximum load during starting and for fan operation during normal cooling after combustion stops.

The exact fuse rating and required maximum power supply current are determined by the electrical specifications of the corresponding version.

Can the heater power be disconnected completely immediately after switching it off?

After a shutdown command, maintain the electrical supply until the normal stopping and cooling cycle is complete.

The controller must stop fuel delivery and perform the specified combustion chamber purge. The fan continues operating to cool the heated components.

If the battery or mains supply is disconnected immediately after the stop command, hot parts may be left without the necessary cooling.

When operating from a battery, allow for sufficient charge both during combustion and for the final fan operating cycle.

Can a self-contained diesel heater operate without electricity?

No. Although most thermal energy is obtained by burning diesel fuel, the heater depends on electrical power.

Electricity is required by the control system, fan, fuel pump, and glow plug. These components stop operating if the battery is discharged or the mains supply is lost.

For prolonged heating, calculate fuel and electrical energy reserves separately. A stable supply is particularly important during extended overnight operation and when using the heater to protect plants from frost.

Controls, remote controls, and Bluetooth

How can a TRI MURAVYA heater be controlled?

The main control methods depend on the modification: an electronic panel with an LCD, a remote control, and, for 9.8 kW versions with Bluetooth, a smartphone application.

The panel is used to start and stop the heater and change operating settings. The remote control transmits basic commands, allowing the heater to be operated from a distance.

On 9.8 kW versions with Bluetooth, a smartphone is used to switch on the heater, adjust the set temperature, and change modes. A particular controller also provides weekly schedule setup.

How does a conventional remote control differ from a remote control with feedback?

A conventional remote control is intended to transmit commands to the heater. It can switch the device on and off remotely and change the available settings.

A feedback remote control additionally receives information from the heater and shows the following on its own display:

This function is particularly convenient when the heater is located in a separate room, a technical compartment, or at a distance from the control location.

Return transmission of temperature and operating status is not declared for a conventional remote control.

What is the operating range of the TRI MURAVYA 9.8 kW remote control?

A range of approximately 30-40 m is declared for the feedback remote control, with a maximum of up to 40 m.

The actual distance depends on obstructions, heater placement, walls, metal structures, and radio propagation conditions.

The remote control and Bluetooth module have different operating ranges. A substantially shorter distance is declared for Bluetooth.

How does Bluetooth work in the TRI MURAVYA 9.8 kW heater?

The 9.8 kW versions have a Bluetooth wireless communication module for local wireless connection to a smartphone. The declared control range is 6-10 m.

A smartphone can switch the heater on, adjust temperature, and change modes. With a controller supporting weekly scheduling, on and off commands can be set for individual days of the week.

Bluetooth is a short range connection. Control over long distances outside the module coverage area is not declared.

The mobile application name, supported Android and iOS versions, and exact pairing sequence have not been established for all versions. Use the application intended for the installed controller during setup.

.

Can heater starting be scheduled by day of the week using a smartphone?

The TRI MURAVYA 9.8 kW version with the examined controller provides weekly on and off scheduling through a smartphone application.

To operate the schedule, the controller uses its own current time and selected day of the week. The day is set on the additional EE screen as a number from 1 to 7.

Before creating a schedule, check that the internal clock and day of the week are correct. These parameters determine when the controller executes the specified command.

The specific scheduling procedure depends on the application interface and electronic control unit version.

Timer, internal clock, and weekly schedule

How is the TRI MURAVYA 9.8 kW delayed start timer set?

On the 9.8 kW heater with a particular controller type, the delayed start timer is activated automatically after the on and off times have been set.

Setup sequence:

  1. Connect electrical power to the heater.
  2. Check the controller internal current time. To count the delay from zero, setting it to 00:00 beforehand is recommended.
  3. Open the timer setup menu on the control panel.
  4. Set the required switch-on time.
  5. Set the automatic shutdown time if this function is required.
  6. Confirm the selected shutdown time with the "OK" button.

After the shutdown time is confirmed, the timer automatically becomes active.

The "Settings" + "Up arrow" combination specified in the Russian-language instructions for separately enabling the timer did not work on the examined controller. Additional activation using this combination is not required.

The exact combination for entering the initial ON and OFF time setup menu depends on the control panel version.

How is the start timer or automatic shutdown timer disabled?

The examined TRI MURAVYA 9.8 kW controller uses one button combination whose effect depends on the current heater state.

If the shutdown time has been set and differs from 00.0, the shutdown timer automatically becomes effective after the heater is started by the start timer.

Separate activation of the shutdown timer using "Settings" + "Up arrow" is not required on this controller.

.

What does the 0.1 increment mean when setting the timer time?

On the examined panel, timer time changes in increments of 0.1.

In the normal decimal hour representation, 0.1 hour equals 6 minutes, because one hour contains 60 minutes.

However, a practical correspondence was established for a particular TRI MURAVYA 9.8 kW unit: one 0.1 increment is interpreted as 10 minutes.

When setting this controller, its display characteristics must therefore be taken into account. It is preferable to check the correspondence between an increment and actual time beforehand using a short delay.

The observation concerning 10 minutes cannot be extended to all modifications and controller versions.

What does the additional clock face screen without ON and OFF show?

Holding the "OK" button in standby opens the controller internal clock screen. It differs from the normal timer screens in having no ON or OFF labels.

This screen sets the electronic unit's own current time, counted from the moment electrical power is connected.

The initial value is 00 hours 00 minutes. The counter then continues running and starts a new daily cycle after 24 hours.

Briefly pressing the "Start" button displays the current internal clock value. Hold "OK" to adjust the time manually.

Why does the heater start before the selected delay has elapsed?

The controller in the examined 9.8 kW heater compares the selected start time with its own internal time elapsed since electrical power was connected.

For example, if the start time is set to 30 minutes and the heater has already been powered for 20 minutes, starting will occur in approximately 10 minutes.

Setting the timer to 30 minutes therefore does not necessarily mean that a new 30-minute countdown begins when setup is completed.

If the internal current time already exceeds the selected delayed start time, the timer cannot be activated on the examined controller.

Before setting a delay, check the internal clock and allow for the time already elapsed since power was connected.

.

How is the internal time reset before setting the timer?

The examined controller provides two methods of returning the internal time to 00:00.

  1. Stop the heater normally and wait until cooling is complete. Then disconnect electrical power completely and reconnect it. The internal count will start at 00:00.
  2. Open internal clock setup by holding "OK" in standby and manually set 00:00.

The first method is simpler because it starts a new time count at the same time and avoids confusion over hours already elapsed.

For manual setting, use the additional internal clock screen specifically, rather than the timer start or shutdown time screen.

What do EE and a number from 1 to 7 on the display mean?

On the examined TRI MURAVYA 9.8 kW controller, EE appears after the internal clock setting is confirmed with "OK".

This is the screen for setting the current day of the week for weekly scheduling through the smartphone application. Values from 1 to 7 are available.

In this context, EE is not a fault code.

The value 7 presumably corresponds to Sunday; however, the correspondence between all numbers and specific days of the week has not been checked on this unit. When using weekly scheduling, verify it through controller operation or the application interface.

Are timer settings retained after power is disconnected?

On the examined TRI MURAVYA 9.8 kW unit, all timer parameters are reset when electrical power is completely disconnected.

At the next connection, the internal clock starts counting again, and the start and shutdown timers must be configured again.

Climate control parameters, however, are retained in nonvolatile memory and restored when power is supplied.

Timer behaviour and retention of temperature settings therefore differ. These characteristics are confirmed for a particular controller type and may depend on the electronic unit version.

.

Climate control and temperature modes

What temperature range can be set in climate control mode?

For the TRI MURAVYA 9.8 kW with the examined controller, the temperature setting range is +5 to +40 °C.

In climate control mode, the electronic system uses the temperature sensor readings and the value selected by the user. Actual room temperature also depends on heater and sensor placement.

Climate control settings on this unit are retained after electrical power is completely disconnected.

Why is the temperature on the heater display higher than the room thermometer reading?

The built-in sensor may warm up together with the heater housing, causing the displayed temperature to exceed the actual room air temperature.

On a particular TRI MURAVYA 9.8 kW unit, after the housing warmed up, the built-in sensor readings were approximately 4 °C higher than those of a separately checked thermometer.

With this deviation, the selected range of +5...+40 °C approximately corresponds to an actual range of +1...+36 °C at the reference measurement point.

This observation applies to one device. The magnitude of the temperature measurement error may differ on other units.

For accurate temperature monitoring, particularly in a greenhouse or a room with uneven heat distribution, use a separate thermometer located directly in the monitored zone.

How should heater output be selected to maintain the required temperature?

Heater output is adjusted through the available operating modes and settings on the electronic panel or remote control.

In power adjustment modes, fuel consumption is related to the delivery rate of the metering pump. Less fuel is consumed at minimum output and more at maximum output.

When using climate control, set the required temperature; subsequent operation is determined by the temperature sensor readings and the algorithm of the installed controller.

Rooms with high heat losses may require prolonged operation at increased output. In well insulated rooms, the set temperature is achieved with lower average fuel consumption.

.

What ambient temperature is permissible for heater operation?

An ambient temperature range from -40 to +40 °C is specified for the TRI MURAVYA camouflage 8 kW version.

A range from -50 to +50 °C is declared for the 9.8 kW version with a feedback remote control.

These values are specifications of the corresponding modifications and do not confirm successful cold starting of every unit at the extreme subzero temperatures.

Starting capability in severe frost depends on seasonal suitability of the diesel fuel, battery charge, glow plug condition, and fuel system serviceability.

The operating ambient temperature must also be distinguished from the climate control temperature setting range of +5...+40 °C.

Does TRI MURAVYA have overheating protection?

Electronic overheating protection is declared for the TRI MURAVYA 9.8 kW heater. When the temperature rises to a critical value, the system should stop heating to protect the device.

If overheating occurs, check:

The exact protection activation temperature, alarm indication on the panel, and reset procedure have not been established for the modifications considered.

Installation, air ducts, and safety

How should a TRI MURAVYA self-contained diesel heater be installed?

Installation begins with selecting a stable base on which the housing can be securely fastened and all connecting components arranged.

Recommended installation sequence:

  1. Select a level base and determine heater placement, allowing for servicing and the warm air delivery direction.
  2. Provide a separate route for discharging exhaust gases outside the heated space.
  3. Position the combustion air supply tube and ensure unobstructed air intake.
  4. Connect the required flexible air ducts and secure them to the outlet nozzles.
  5. Install the fuel line, filter, and specified connections.
  6. Arrange electrical power with the appropriate voltage, wires, and protection.
  7. Check housing attachment and the tightness of fuel and exhaust connections.
  8. Ensure that there are no pinched tubes, fuel leaks, or obstructions to airflow.
  9. After inspection, perform a trial start and check fan, burner, and exhaust system operation.

For a portable version, the base must remain stable with the heater installed and all services connected.

.

How are the airflows for heating and fuel combustion separated?

A diesel air heater uses two separate air passages.

The first heats the room: the fan directs air through the heat exchanger, after which the warm flow is delivered through the outlet nozzles.

The second supports fuel combustion: air enters the combustion chamber through a dedicated tube, and the resulting gases are removed through the exhaust pipe.

Safe operation requires a serviceable heat exchanger, a gas-tight combustion gas passage, and sufficient incoming air. Combustion products must be removed outside the heated space.

It is particularly important to prevent exhaust gases from entering the heating circuit air intake or returning indoors through ventilation openings.

How are flexible air ducts connected to a heater with four nozzles?

Flexible air ducts connect to the corresponding outlet fittings and direct heated air to the required room zones.

Installation must allow for actual fitting diameters, the attachment method, and duct resistance. Excessive length, sharp bends, and reduced total flow cross-section impair air movement through the heat exchanger.

For the four-nozzle version, maintaining unobstructed airflow through the connected ducts is recommended.

The individual outlet diameters of the four-nozzle versions have not been established. An outlet diameter of 80 mm is confirmed for the camouflage single-nozzle 8 kW heater.

Determine the compatibility of adapters, distributors, and additional attachments from the actual connection dimensions.

How long should a diesel heater exhaust pipe be?

Installation recommendations for diesel air heaters give approximate limits of an exhaust pipe length up to 2 m and a total directional change at bends up to 270°.

These values aim to reduce resistance to combustion product discharge and are not confirmed individual limits for every TRI MURAVYA version.

The standard exhaust pipe for the camouflage single-nozzle 8 kW version is 25 mm in diameter and 80 cm long.

When selecting the route, consider pipe resistance, the number of bends, the characteristics of the installed muffler, and the need to drain condensate. The exhaust system must comply with the permissible back pressure of the particular heater.

.

Can a plastic pipe be used to discharge exhaust gases?

A heat resistant metal pipe is required to discharge combustion products.

Diesel heater exhaust gas temperatures may reach several hundred degrees. Plastic pipes can soften, melt, and ignite under such heating.

Position the exhaust pipe at a safe distance from wooden structures, plastic components, electrical wiring, fuel, and other objects sensitive to high temperatures.

The standard muffler is installed in the exhaust passage to reduce noise. Its resistance and the possibility of condensate accumulation must also be considered.

Why does condensate form in the exhaust pipe, and how should it be drained?

As exhaust gases cool inside the pipe, water vapour condenses. Moisture may accumulate in low sections and freeze at subzero temperatures.

Accumulated liquid increases resistance to exhaust gas flow, promotes corrosion, and may impair burner operation.

During installation, select a pipe route that prevents condensate from draining back into the heater and allows it to drain safely.

Checking low sections of the exhaust passage is particularly important during prolonged operation in cold weather.

Can an additional radiator or heat exchanger be installed on the exhaust pipe?

An additional radiator, a long metal coil, or another heat exchanger in the exhaust system increases resistance to gas discharge.

Increased back pressure disrupts combustion chamber purging and the fuel-to-air ratio. Possible consequences include:

Some exhaust system modifications make frequent heater disassembly and servicing necessary. For stable combustion, exhaust passage resistance must remain within the limits permitted for the particular installation.

What clearance is required between the heater and combustible materials?

When installing in a garage, workshop, or site cabin, maintaining a distance of at least 0.5 m from combustible walls and materials is recommended.

Pay particular attention to outlet nozzles, hot air ducts, and the exhaust pipe. Outlet air temperature may be high enough to heat nearby objects.

Route the exhaust separately from plastic items, wooden structures, fuel, and electrical wiring.

Select the exhaust gas outlet location so that the hot flow does not reach people, building air intakes, doors, windows, or heat sensitive surfaces.

What safety requirements apply when using the heater in a tent or motorhome?

When using a diesel heater in a tent, motorhome, or any room where people are sleeping, a serviceable sealed combustion chamber, reliable outdoor exhaust gas discharge, sufficient ventilation, and an operational independent carbon monoxide detector are required.

The carbon monoxide detector must remain operational independently of the heater power supply. Simultaneous disconnection of power to the detector and heating installation is unacceptable.

Exhaust pipe placement must prevent combustion products from returning through windows, doors, ventilation openings, and air intakes.

A carbon monoxide detector is an additional safety measure and does not replace gas-tight exhaust connections, a serviceable heat exchanger, or correct ventilation.

What factors should be considered when installing the heater in a vehicle?

A vehicle installation requires secure housing attachment, a combustion passage independent of passenger compartment air, and gas-tight discharge of combustion products outdoors.

A 12 V supply is used for compatible passenger cars and some motorhomes; 24 V is used for trucks and special machinery with that onboard electrical system.

Protect hot exhaust system sections from contact with fuel lines, electrical wiring, and heat sensitive body components.

The heater's general purpose does not mean that its mounting points are compatible with every vehicle model. Installation must take account of available space, air duct placement, and vehicle design characteristics.

.

Can the heater be moved between a garage, country house, and greenhouse?

TRI MURAVYA heaters with an integrated fuel tank and common housing can be placed on a separate stable base. The unpackaged weight of the 9.8 kW version is 8 kg, and its integrated tank capacity is 5 L.

When moving the heater, safely dismantle the exhaust system and connections, then repeat the installation procedure at the new location.

Before every start after relocation, check:

When installing on a portable metal stand, consider structural stability, housing heating, and safe placement of hot components relative to surrounding objects.

Fuel system, maintenance, and diagnosis

How should the heater fuel filter be installed?

Install the fuel filter in the fuel supply line, ensuring leak-tight connections. If the filter housing has a flow direction arrow, orient the filter accordingly.

The coarse filter traps contaminants that may disrupt metering pump and burner operation.

During installation, check connection security and ensure that there are no damaged tubes or air leaks into the system.

After disassembling the line, ensure that fuel reaches the heater without airlocks in the fuel supply.

What should be done if the heater receives no fuel after refuelling?

If fuel delivery is interrupted, check that diesel fuel is present in the tank, inspect the filter and connection tightness, and check fuel pump operation.

If the fuel line is empty, it may require preliminary filling.

Some controllers provide a dedicated fuel priming mode for this purpose. The button combination used to start it depends on the control panel version. The exact combination has not been separately confirmed for the examined TRI MURAVYA unit.

After filling the line, ensure that there are no leaks or airlocks, then check heater starting.

.

Why might a diesel heater start poorly or operate erratically?

Unstable starting and combustion may result from fuel delivery problems, insufficient combustion air, restricted exhaust flow, or faulty electrical components.

Perform the checks in sequence:

  1. Ensure that there is sufficient suitable diesel fuel in the tank.
  2. Check the fuel filter condition and ensure that there is no air in the line.
  3. Ensure that the fuel pump receives power and delivers fuel.
  4. Check air delivery to the combustion chamber.
  5. Inspect the exhaust system for blockages, excessive resistance, and condensate accumulation.
  6. Check the supply voltage and the condition of wiring and connections.
  7. If necessary, assess the condition of the glow plug and combustion chamber.

In severe frost, separately check the fuel properties at low temperatures and the battery condition. Reliable starting requires sufficient electrical power for the glow plug.

Why does soot form in the combustion chamber?

Soot forms during incomplete fuel combustion. One cause is an incorrect diesel fuel-to-air ratio.

Insufficient incoming air or restricted exhaust gas discharge impairs combustion and promotes carbon deposits on the burner, glow plug, and internal heat exchanger surfaces.

If heavy contamination is found, check not only component condition but also the air intake and exhaust passage flow capacity, fuel delivery, and possible excessive back pressure.

Recurring soot after cleaning may indicate a continuing problem with combustion conditions.

How often should a TRI MURAVYA heater be serviced?

An inspection once per season is used as an approximate maintenance interval. Intensive operation may require more frequent servicing.

Main tasks:

Remove contamination, replace filter elements as necessary, and restore any leaking connections to a tight condition.

The exact service interval in operating hours has not been established for each modification.

.

How should the heater be prepared for use after prolonged inactivity?

Before a new heating season, check the fuel system, air intake, exhaust pipe, filter condition, and electrical connections.

After inspection, a trial start may be performed, followed by approximately 15-20 minutes of high power operation, provided combustion is normal.

This warm-up is used to check operation and reduce accumulated deposits.

If unusual smoke, fuel odour, unstable combustion, or signs of overheating occur during the trial operation, stop using the heater and rectify the fault.

What should be checked in the event of overheating, heavy smoke, or an unusual odour?

If signs of a fault appear, stop the heater normally while maintaining power to complete the specified purge, and determine the cause of the deviation.

For overheating, check fan operation, unobstructed heating air entry, outlet nozzle flow capacity, and flexible air duct condition.

For smoke and unstable combustion, check the fuel filter, fuel delivery, combustion chamber air intake, exhaust pipe, muffler, and soot in the burner.

If fuel odour is present, check the tank, fuel line, and connections for leaks. Exhaust gases entering the heated room require immediate cessation of installation use until the cause is rectified.

After servicing or moving the heater, it is particularly important to recheck mountings, exhaust connections, and tube positions.
