CAS Scale Calibration Manual for models: AD, DL, DB, CL, LP, SW, AP, ER, PDI, EM

For all CAS models, except industrial ones, calibration includes five stages:

• C-1 digital value of the sensor and analog module.
• C-2 request pulse time for the analog module (not a critical parameter).
• C-4 setup options for maximum capacity (NPI) and resolution in 8-bit format. (This option only affects the arithmetic logic unit; if calibration C3 is missing, this option should not be changed).
• C-6 (only for 1P-ueg1.6) thermal printer sensor setup.
• C-9 (only for ADH,1p-1.6) gravity coefficient value G.

For scales with no more than four control buttons, switching between sub-calibrations is done using the ON/OFF button. Otherwise, it is performed via the numeric keypad.

In scales with LCD displays and LED matrices (types SW, TP, EM, MV, D1, BW, BI, CI), a calibration button is used, while in scales with a green vacuum display (types AD, DB, 1P, ADH, AP, TC), a calibration switch is used.

Calibration instructions

- Remove the weighing platform
- Unscrew the long screw under the yellow sticker
- Turn the scales over, unscrew the screw on the metal label, and remove it.

Press the ON/OFF button and turn on the scales, wait 30 seconds.

Press ON/OFF, the display will show 1-XX — this is the first option for setting capacity and division.

If you need to change the value, use the following keys:
ZERO — switches the option (total of 3)
HOLD — shifts the digit to the left
TARE — enters the digit.

Example: to enter (1-21)
Press TARE to get 1-X2, press HOLD to shift digit 2 to the left, then press TARE until you get 1-21. For the next option, press ZERO and enter the second option. To save settings, all three options must be entered.

Sw2: 1-21; 2-61; 3-11
Sw5: 1-22; 2-61; 3-11
Sw10: 1-23; 2-61; 3-11
Sw20: 1-24; 2-61; 3-11

If the options do not need to be changed:
- Press ON/OFF. The display will show 4XXX — digital sensor value (in functional scales this value ranges from 4000 to 8000).
- Press ON/OFF again — the display will show 4XXX, the digital value of the analog module.
- Continue pressing ON/OFF — the display will show ULOAD.
- Place the platform back without load, press ON/OFF. The display will show LOAD.
- Place a calibration weight equal to the sensor’s maximum capacity (e.g., sw2 = 2 kg).
- Press ON/OFF, the display will show END.

Calibration is complete.

CAS SW scales manufactured after 2006 (with buzzer)

The LCD display will show C-0. To change options, use the following key functions:

C-0: exit option

C-2: request pulse time for the analog module (non-critical parameter)
C-3: calibration with standard weight
C-4: setup options for maximum capacity and resolution in 8-bit format.
C-5 – C-9: not used.

Steps:
- Press the ZERO button several times until the symbol "C" with the desired value (C-3) is displayed
- Press the TARE button. The display will show ULOAD.
- Reinstall the platform without load, press ZERO. The display will show LOAD.
- Place a calibration weight equal to the sensor’s maximum capacity (e.g., sw2 = 2 kg).
- Press the ZERO button. The display will show C-0
- Press the ZERO button again to exit calibration mode.

Example: to enter (41-01)
Press TARE to enter 41-X1. Press HOLD — the flashing digit will switch. Press TARE until it becomes 1 to get 41-01. For the next option, press ZERO and enter the second option. To save the settings, all six options must be entered.

- After entering all options, use the HOLD button to switch to C-0.
- Press the ZERO button.

Calibration of CAS SW new models (2010)

- Remove the calibration plate located on the bottom of the scales.
- Press and hold the calibration button under the plate and simultaneously turn on the scales using the POWER button. The indicator will display CAL 1.
- Use the TARE button to scroll to CAL. Ensure the scales are level, the platform is installed, and unloaded.
- Press the ZERO (0) button, the indicator will show ZERO.
- Press ZERO (0) again to start zero calibration, and a digital zero value will appear (for a 10-kg scale it is about 15000). Then “Midup” will appear.
- Place half of the max capacity (NPI) on the platform (e.g., 2 kg for 5 kg scales) and press ZERO (0) again. A digital value for this point will appear (for 10-kg scale about 45000). Then “Full” will appear.
- Place the full capacity (NPI) weight on the platform and press ZERO (0). A digital value will appear for this point (about 75000 for 10-kg scale). Then “Middn” will appear.
- Place half of the max capacity (NPI) on the platform again (e.g., 2 kg for 5 kg scales) and press ZERO (0). A digital value for this point will appear again (about 45000 for 10-kg scale) and the scales will switch to CAL 3.
- Calibration is complete. Exit calibration mode using the POWER button.

You can also calibrate the scales with a percentage of the NPI in option CAL 7:
- Use the TARE button to scroll digits, and the ZERO button to scroll numbers. Enter the percentage this way.
- Press the ZERO (0) button — “ZERO” will appear.
- Press ZERO (0) again — zero test will run.
- Place the required weight on the platform and press ZERO (0). A digital value for this point will appear again, and the scales will switch to CAL.
- Calibration is complete. Exit calibration mode using the POWER button.

Option values

Universal option values for all maximum capacities (NPI):
CAL 4: C41 b4; C43 0F

Division value is set in CAL 10, parameter id. Use the TARE button to scroll digits and the ZERO button to scroll numbers.

Digital values for four calibration points: ZERO, Midup, Full, Middn.

2:  

5: 15500, 46300, 77000, 46300.

10: 15000, 45000, 75000, 45000.

20: 11600, 41700, 71800, 41700.

CAL 1 and CAL 5: digital sensor value.

CAL 6: value = 5 for all NPIs.

CAL 7: calibration by percentage.

CAL 9: Gravity value. Two parameters G-1 and G-2 have a value of 9.7946. They are the same for all NPIs. Use the TARE button to scroll digits and the ZERO button to scroll numbers.

CAL 10: UNIT - 0 (for all NPIs),
TARE (NPI change): 00020, 00010, 00005, 00002 respectively for 20, 10, 5, 2 kg.
MID (division change with NPI): 00010, 00005, 00002, 00001.
g - dp - 3 for all NPIs. id - (division) 0.010, 0.005, 0.002, 0.001 respectively for 20, 10, 5, 2 kg.
DUAL - 0, TARE - 0 for all NPIs by default.

CAL 11 - 00. Scale ID (used to connect scales to a computer).

CAS AP (m, ex) scale calibration

- Remove the platform.
- On the left of the center, remove the round cover.
- Shine a flashlight into the hole and use a small flat screwdriver to switch the slider switch to the "CAL" position (away from you). Place the platform with the pins facing up.
- Plug the cord into the socket and press ON/OFF. The display will flash “CAL” three times, wait 30 seconds.

Enter the sub-calibration number on the numeric keypad.

C-1: digital sensor and analog module value.

C-2: request pulse time for the analog module (non-critical parameter).

C-3: calibration with weight.

C-4: setup options for maximum capacity and division in 8-bit format (this option only affects the arithmetic logic unit; if C3 calibration fails, this option should not be changed).

C-3 options

Example of calibration with weight:

- Press button 3. The display will show ULOAD.
- Reinstall the weighing platform without load.
- Press C. The display will show LOAD.
- Place the maximum calibration weight on the platform.
- Press button C. The display will show END.
- Press “0” and the scales will enter operating mode, i.e., weighing mode.
- Switch the “CAL” switch back to its original position.
- Place the platform pins into the rubber bushings.
- Place a test weight.
If the display shows HHHH or LLLL, the maximum weight is incorrect or there is a malfunction.

C-4 options

Example: enter (1-81)
- On the numeric keypad, press 8, then 1.
- To go to the next option, press button C.
- Enter the second option.
- To save the options, all six options must be entered.

After calibration is complete, unplug the scales, switch the calibration switch back toward you, and turn the scales on again.

CAS AD, ADH scales

- Remove the platform.
- On the left of the center, remove the round cover.
- Use a small flat screwdriver to switch the red calibration switch away from you.
- Plug the cord into the socket, press ON/OFF, the display will show CAL, wait 30 seconds.

Subprogram switching is performed using the ON/OFF button.

Press ON/OFF. The display will show 1-XX — this is the first option for setting maximum capacity and division.

To change options, use the following keys:
ZERO — switches the option (total of 3),
HOLD — shifts the digit to the left,
TARE — enters the digit.

Example of programming options: enter (1-81)
- Press TARE until you get 1-X8
- Press HOLD, digit 8 will shift left
- Press TARE until 1 is reached to get 1-81.
- To move to the next option, press ZERO and enter the second option
- To save options, all three options must be entered for ADH and four for AD.

If options do not need to be changed:
- Press ON/OFF. The display will show 4XXX — digital sensor value. In functional scales this ranges from 1000 to 5000.
- Press ON/OFF. The display will show 4XXX — digital value of the analog module.
- Press ON/OFF again. The display will show ULOAD.
- Reinstall the platform without load.
- Press ON/OFF. The display will show LOAD.
- Place a calibration weight corresponding to the sensor’s capacity (e.g., 10 = 10 kg).
- Press ON/OFF. The display will show END. Calibration is complete.

For CAS ADH scales:

If options do not need to be changed:
- Press ON/OFF. The display will show 4XXX — digital sensor value. In functional scales this ranges from 1000 to 5000.
- Press ON/OFF. The display will show 4XXX — digital value of the analog module.
- Press ON/OFF again. The display will show coefficient d (do not change).
- Press ON/OFF again. The display will show ULOAD.
- Reinstall the platform without load.
- Press ON/OFF. The display will show 50PER.
- Place a calibration weight equal to 1/2 of the maximum capacity (e.g., 5 kg for a 10-kg scale).
- Press ON/OFF. The display will show 100PER.
- Place a calibration weight equal to the maximum capacity (e.g., 10 kg for a 10-kg scale).
- Press ON/OFF. The display will show END. Calibration is complete.

After calibration, unplug the scales, switch the calibration switch back toward you, and turn the scales on again.

- Plug the cord into the socket, press the ON/OFF button to turn on the scales. Wait 30 seconds.

C-4 options

Example of option programming:
- Scroll with the “0” button until C4 is displayed.
- Press TARE.
- To enter (41-81), type 8 and then 1 on the numeric keypad.
- To go to the next option, press TARE and enter the second option
- To save options, all 5 options must be entered.

- Remove the platform.
- Unscrew the plate and switch the calibration switch to the left position.
- Turn on the scales, wait 30 seconds.

- Place the maximum calibration weight on the platform
- Press PRINT. The display will show END
If the display shows HHHH or LLLL, the maximum weight is incorrect or there is a malfunction.

C-4 options

Example of option programming for 15 kg:
- Press button 4. The display will show REZ
- Press PRINT. The display will show 3000 (7500 for 30 kg, 6000 for 6 kg)
- Press PRINT. The display will show DUAL
- Press PRINT. The display will show 1 (1 = dual range, 0 = single range)
- Press PRINT. The display will show CAPA
- Press PRINT. The display will show 15 (30 for 30 kg, 6 for 6 kg)
- Press PRINT. The display will show DP
- Press PRINT. The display will show 433 (number of decimal places)
- Press PRINT. The display will show UNIT
- Press PRINT. The display will show 1000 (1 kg = 1000, 100 g = 100)
- Press PRINT. The display will show LBFG
- Press PRINT. The display will show 0 (0 = kg, 1 = lb)
- Press PRINT. The display will show SNODE
- Press PRINT. The display will show 11111

CAS LP-1.6 scales

- Remove the platform.
- Unscrew the plate and switch the calibration switch to the left position.
- Turn on the scales, wait 30 seconds.

Options for version 1.6

C-0: exit option
C-1: digital sensor value
C-2: request pulse time for the analog module (non-critical parameter)
C-3: calibration with standard weight
C-4: maximum capacity setup options
C-6: calibration of thermal printer IR sensors
C-5 – C-9: not used.

Example of calibration with weight:
- Press button 3. The display will show ULOAD
- Reinstall the platform without load
- Press PRINT. The display will show LOAD
- Place the maximum calibration weight on the platform
- Press PRINT. The display will show END^^u
If the display shows HHHH or LLLL, the maximum weight is incorrect or there is a malfunction.

Maximum capacity of the scales is changed by firmware update.

C-6 IR sensor calibration options

(!) If any sensor malfunctions, the scales indicate it with a red light in the paper compartment.

- Press 6. The display will show CAL6 130 PoFF 4 (4 = sensor value, 130 = sensor trigger threshold).
- Cover the label presence sensor with your hand and observe PoFF X
The sensor trigger threshold (Z) is calculated by the formula:
Xmin + (Xmax – Xmin) = Z
- Enter the result on the keypad
- Press PRINT.

Fault example: skipping 1.5 labels

- Press the up arrow. The display will show CAL6 90 PEnd 148 (148 = sensor value, 90 = sensor trigger threshold).
- Open the paper compartment, locate the U-shaped green sensor
- Move the paper back and forth between the slot and the label and observe PEnd X
The sensor trigger threshold (Z) is calculated by the formula:
Xmin + (Xmax – Xmin) = Z
- Enter the result on the keypad
- Press PRINT.

- Press the up arrow. The display will show CAL6 128 HEAD144 (144 = thermal head contrast value, 128 = current value)
- Enter a contrast value on the keypad (the higher the value, the higher the print contrast)
- Press RESET to exit calibration mode.

CAS DB scales

The calibration switch is located under the paper seal.

- Use a screwdriver to switch the red calibration switch to the right.
- Plug the cord into the socket, press ON/OFF to turn on the scales. The display will show CAL. Wait 30 seconds.
- Subprogram switching is performed with the ON/OFF button.
- Press ON/OFF. The display will show 1-XX — this is the first option for setting maximum capacity and division.
- To change options, use the following keys:
ZERO — switches the option (total of 4),
HOLD — shifts the digit to the left,
TARE — enters the digit.

Example of option programming:
- Enter (1-81)
- Press TARE until 1-X8 is displayed
- Press HOLD. Digit 8 will shift left
- Press TARE until 1 is displayed to get 1-81

- Press ON/OFF. The display will show 4XXX — digital value of the analog module.
- Press ON/OFF again. The display will show ULOAD.
- Reinstall the platform without load.
- Press ON/OFF. The display will show LOAD.
- Place a calibration weight equal to the maximum capacity (e.g., 150 = 150 kg).
- Press ON/OFF. The display will show END. Calibration is complete.

After calibration, unplug the scales, switch the calibration switch back to the left, and turn the scales on again.

CAS DB-II series scales

To enter calibration mode, press the calibration button and ON/OFF simultaneously. The calibration button is located under the plate on the back panel of the indicator.

- Use the “M” (MODE) button to scroll until the indicator shows C-3.
- Press the “S” (SET) button, the display will show ULOAD.
- Press the Stable button. The display will show LOAD.
- Place the corresponding maximum calibration weight on the platform and press the “S” (SET) button.
- Return the micro-switch to its original position. Calibration is complete.

CAS ND scales

The calibration switch is located under the metal label on the back cover. Use a screwdriver to move the red switch to the center position of the scales.

- Plug the cord into the socket and press ON/OFF. The display will show CAL. Wait 30 seconds.
- Subprogram switching is done with the ON/OFF button.
- Press ON/OFF. The display will show 1-XX — this is the first option for setting maximum capacity and division.
- To change options, use the following keys:
ZERO — switches the option (total of 4),
HOLD — shifts the digit to the left,
TARE — enters the digit.

Example of option programming:
- Enter (1-81)
- Press TARE until 1-X8 is displayed
- Press HOLD. Digit 8 will shift left
- Press TARE until 1 is displayed to get 1-81
- For the next option, press ZERO and enter the second option
- To save, all 4 options must be entered.

Options

ND-300: 1-81, 2-20, 3-41, 4-01

If options do not need to be changed:
- Press ON/OFF. The display will show 4XXX — digital sensor value. In functional scales this value ranges from 1000 to 5000.
- Press ON/OFF. The display will show 4XXX — digital value of the analog module.
- Press ON/OFF again. The display will show ULOAD.
- Reinstall the platform without load.
- Press ON/OFF. The display will show LOAD.
- Place the calibration weight corresponding to the sensor’s maximum capacity (e.g., ND300 = 300 kg).
- Press ON/OFF. The display will show END. Calibration is complete.

After calibration, unplug the scales, switch the calibration switch back to the left, and turn the scales on again.

CAS DL scales before 2006

- On the back of the indicator head, unscrew the metal tab.
- Hold down the calibration button and turn on the scales. The display will show Set — calibration mode entered.
- Use the TARE button to scroll through setup options. They should be as follows:
60 kg = 0-0, 1-0, 2-4, 3-2, 4-1, 5-2, 6-0, 7-0, 8-0, 9-0
150 kg = 0-0, 1-0, 2-4, 3-2, 4-2, 5-2, 6-0, 7-3, 8-0, 9-0

- If options do not match the above, adjust them using the ZERO button.
- If options match, press TARE until option 0-0 appears, then use ZERO to go to St 0-3.
- Remove unnecessary load from the platform and press ZERO. The display will show UNLOAD.
- Press ZERO. The display will show LOAD.
- Place a calibration weight equal to the maximum capacity (e.g., for 150 kg scales, place 150 kg).
- Press ZERO. The display should show END and then St.
If the display shows HHHH or LLLL, the capacity is incorrect or a malfunction is detected.

CAS DL (N) scales after 2006

- On the back of the indicator head, unscrew the metal tab.
- Hold the calibration button and turn on the scales. The display will show C-0 — calibration mode entered.

Options for version (N)

C-0: exit option
C-1: digital sensor value
C-2: request pulse time for the analog module (non-critical parameter)
C-3: calibration with weight
C-4: maximum capacity setup options
C-5 – C-9: not used.

C-3 options

- Use the TARE button to select C-3
- Press ZERO. The display will show UNLOAD
- Press ZERO again. The display will show LOAD
- Place the calibration weight equal to the maximum capacity (e.g., 150 kg for 150 kg scales).
- Press ZERO. The display will return to C-3.

C-4 options

- Use the TARE button to select C-4
- Press ZERO. The display will show:
150 kg = 4101, 4268, 4303, 4400, 4580, 4600
60 kg = 4101, 4260, 4303, 4400, 4580, 4600

CAS CI-2001A, BI, BW scales

- To enter calibration mode, turn on the power with the rear-panel button while holding the button under the strip labeled “Calibration”.
- Then press the TARE button, after which “CAL 1” will appear. The device will enter the first of five calibration steps.
- Move to the next calibration step by pressing the ENTER key; the newly entered value is automatically saved.

Setting maximum capacity (NPI)

After “CAL 1” appears, the device will display the previously programmed maximum capacity. A new value can be entered in kilograms within the range of 1 to 99,999.

Setting the division

After completing the previous calibration with ENTER, move to the next step. The display will show “CAL 2” followed by the set division value. The new value can be selected in kilograms from the series: 0.001; 0.002; 0.005; 0.01; 0.02; 0.05; 0.1; 0.2; 0.5; 1; 2; 5 using the GROSS/NETT button. When the value reaches 5, the cycle repeats. The division must not be less than 0.0001 of the maximum capacity.

Selecting calibration working point

If the number of test weights is insufficient for calibration at maximum capacity, the working point on the load curve can be shifted for calibration with lower loads.

This may lead to incorrect calibration; therefore, after partial-load calibration, verify accuracy with standard weights.

After completing the previous step with ENTER, proceed to the next one. The display will show “CAL 3” and then the previous working point. A new working point can be set within 1–99,999 kg absolute or 10–100% relative to maximum capacity. If less than 10%, error “Err 22” appears; if higher than maximum capacity, error “Err 23” appears. Input rules are as previously described.

Zero calibration

After completing the previous step with ENTER, proceed to zero calibration without entering numerical data. The platform must be unloaded. The display will show “CAL 4” and then the digitized zero weight reading.

Press ENTER to start zero calibration. During the process, dashes “-” will scroll across the display. After the fourth dash “- - - -”, if successful, the unit will automatically proceed to “CAL 5”.

Gain calibration

After “CAL 5” appears, the message “LoAd” will prompt you to place the weight specified in step 3 on the platform, then press ENTER. Dashes “-” will scroll during calibration, and “Good” will appear when completed.

If calibration fails, error “Err24” will appear. In this case, try recalibrating with lower resolution.

The universal display is designed for various platforms with different maximum capacities. Set the maximum weight according to the load cell specifications before calibration.

- On the back of the display, unscrew the bolt and remove the battery. Under the battery, unscrew the two bolts securing the plate.
- Hold the button under the plate and turn on the display. “CAL-1” will appear.
- Use the T button to scroll to CAL-3 or CAL-7.

Option 1: CAL-3

When the display shows CAL-1:
- Scroll with the T button to CAL-3
- Press the 0 (ZERO) button to enter calibration mode
- Use button 0 to move to the next step
- Perform calibration sequentially with an empty platform, then 1/3 of maximum weight, then full weight, then again 1/3 of maximum weight.

Option 2: CAL-7 (percentage calibration)

When the display shows CAL-1:
- Scroll with the T button to CAL-7
- Press the 0 (ZERO) button to enter calibration mode
- Enter the weight you will use for calibration
- Use button 0 to move to the next step
- Perform calibration sequentially with an empty platform, then with the specified weight.
After completion, CAL-1 will appear.

- Turn off the scales
- Turn them back on
- Check measurement accuracy with a standard weight
