YUPITERU automotive remote start — operation overview and key fob layout

I. Engine Start and Stop

1. To start the engine, press the E (stop) button; the indicator lamp will begin flashing. Then press D (start) and hold it while the lamp remains illuminated. (There is no feedback to the key fob indicating that the engine has started*.)

2. To stop engine operation**, press the E (stop) button; the indicator lamp will begin flashing. Press the E (stop) button; the ignition will be switched off (there is no feedback to the key fob indicating that the ignition has been switched off).

* — If the vehicle does not start on the first attempt, two additional attempts will be made with short pauses. If it does not start on the third attempt, no further attempts will be made. In winter, when the ambient temperature is below ?25 °C, you may perform the start procedure twice: execute item 1, then item 2 (after 5–7 minutes), and then item 1 again to ensure reliable starting.

** — The engine will in any case be stopped automatically upon expiration of the preset remote-start operating time.

.

II. Setting the Engine Runtime After Remote Start

1. Press the D (start) and E (stop) buttons simultaneously; the indicator lamp will begin flashing. While it is flashing, press the E (stop) button. You will hear “B B” from the control unit located in the passenger compartment.

2. To increase the engine runtime after remote start, press the D (start) button; the indicator lamp will begin flashing. While it is flashing, press the D (start) button again.
To decrease the engine runtime after remote start, press the E (stop) button; the indicator lamp will begin flashing. While it is flashing, press the E (stop) button again.

3. When the desired time has been set, press the D (start) and E (stop) buttons simultaneously, and while the indicator lamp is flashing, press the E (stop) button. An audible signal “bibitsubibitsu” will sound, confirming that the setting has been completed.

* — When setting the starter cranking time, please consider that “cold” and “warm” starts will result in a different number of revolutions for the same time interval (this depends on oil viscosity). If you set a time longer than necessary, the starter will continue to engage after the engine has started; if you set it too short, the engine may fail to start “cold.”

(!) If no button is pressed for 20 seconds, the changes made will not be saved.

Possible Issues and Remedies

Remote Start from the Yupiteru Key Fob Does Not Work After the Battery (12 V) Has Been Disconnected

After removing the vehicle battery, the remote start function from the key fob may stop working. A faint beep may appear inside the vehicle, emanating from the area of the sliding-door control panel.

The cause is that all settings, including the remote start system itself, have been “unbound” from the vehicle. To bind the remote start control unit back to the vehicle, proceed as follows:

1. Switch on the ignition.
2. Depress the brake pedal.
3. Engage reverse gear.
4. Move the selector to the “Parking” (P) position.
(!) While performing these actions, keep the brake pedal depressed.
5. Switch off the ignition and wait for the sequence to complete.
(!) Perform these steps at a moderate pace, allowing approximately 2-second intervals between actions.

How to Set Engine Runtime and Starter Time Using the Key Fob

This configuration procedure applies to the following models: VE-E350R, VE-E400R, VE-E410R, VE-E420R, VE-E430R, VE-E440R, VE-E450R, VE-E470R, VE-E500R, VE-E510R, E3600Ltd, VE-E520R, VE-E530R, VE-E640V, VE-E800K, VE-E810K, VE-E55R, ESL-54R, DCL80ES, VE-E56R, VE-E650V, VE-Eps50, ESL-64R.

Before you begin, please note the following:

• During parameter changes, communication with the vehicle is established. Please perform this procedure near the vehicle.
• For safety, remove the key from the vehicle before changing settings.
• If the configuration operation is interrupted and lasts longer than 20 seconds, the setup mode automatically terminates and the changes are not saved.

4. Press the Start or Stop button and select the desired setting value (idle runtime). To increase idle runtime, use the Stop button. To decrease idle runtime, use the Start button.

5. After selecting the required idle runtime value, press and hold both the start button and the “E” (engine) button simultaneously for approximately 5 seconds. After the remote control plays “Dremi,” respond with “Miredo,” and the setting will be completed.

How to Change the Cell Time Setting

(!) Please note that the VE-Eps50 model does not provide a cell time setting.

1. Hold the start and stop buttons on the remote control simultaneously for approximately 5 seconds. You will hear an audible signal from the remote control.

2. Then press the engine (engine) button. You will hear the sound “Domiso” from the remote control; the current setting value will be announced, and you will hear the configuration parameter indicating the current cell time.
