This is not the model name of a Tomahawk car alarm, as some mistakenly believe. It indicates the nominal transmitter frequency of the remote control on which it operates (as specified in the manual). The 433.92 MHz frequency is allocated within the license-free LPD band specifically for low-power transmitters used in car alarms, remote-controlled models, and remote controls. "434 MHz" is simply a shortened designation for the same frequency — 433.92 MHz.

Since most alarms use this frequency, in areas with a large concentration of cars (such as parking lots and garages), frequency collisions can occur when several transmitters operate simultaneously. This can cause interference, resulting from the effect of interference of radio waves. If the signal strength from another remote is greater than or comparable to yours at the reception point, your car alarm may not respond. It may seem as if the alarm is malfunctioning or the remote’s battery is dead. In practice, this appears as the alarm responding on the second or third attempt. In reality, your alarm is functioning properly. Since remote transmissions are brief, such collisions do not occur frequently.

Some car alarm models have multiple channels with frequencies different from 433.92 MHz. The channel changes pseudo-randomly after each radio session. The main purpose of multi-channel security systems is to increase the protection of radio communication against intruders using scanners to hack the alarm. Additionally, this reduces the likelihood of frequency collisions.
