Satellite Express Glucometer User Manual

Satellite Express Glucometer - overall view and buttons

This manual applies to the portable blood glucose meter with single-use electrochemical strip PKG-03 “Satellite Express” (hereinafter referred to as the meter).

1. Purpose

The “Satellite Express” meter determines glucose concentration in human capillary blood. The result in mmol/L is obtained after applying a blood sample to a single-use electrochemical test strip “Satellite Express” (hereinafter the strip) inserted into the meter. Based on the measured electrical current and the strip batch number, the meter calculates and displays the glucose concentration.

The device is suitable for individual self-monitoring or for clinical use in the absence of laboratory testing, including screening.

(!) WARNING! Before use, carefully read this manual and consult your physician regarding usage, contraindications, and your target glucose range.

(!) WARNING! Self-testing results should not be used to adjust medication doses without consulting your doctor.

(!) WARNING! If readings seem incorrect, contact your physician or an authorized service center. 24-hour hotline: 8 (800) 250-17-50 (toll-free in Russia).

.

3. Restrictions

Do not use the meter for:

— Testing serum or venous blood;
— Stored blood samples;
— Samples with hematocrit below 20% or above 55%;
— Patients with infections, tumors, or severe edema;

— Testing newborns;
— Diagnosing diabetes;
— During xylose absorption tests.

Use precautions when handling items contacting blood. Lancets are single-use only.

4. Storage and Operation

Store in a dry, ventilated room at -20°C to +30°C, away from sunlight and mechanical impact.

Operate between +15°C and +35°C and under 85% humidity. If stored outside these conditions, allow 30 minutes to reach room temperature.

After long storage (over 3 months) or battery replacement, verify meter performance.

Ensure strip packaging is intact before use.

6. Control Check

Control test - verifying accuracy with control strip

Insert the control strip into the switched-off meter. A reading between 4.2 and 4.6 confirms accuracy. Remove the strip afterward.

(!) WARNING! Out-of-range readings indicate malfunction. Contact service or hotline 8 (800) 250-17-50.

7. Code Entry

Entering code using coded strip

Insert the coded strip into the meter. A three-digit code (e.g., 002) will appear. Ensure it matches the number on the strip package.

(!) WARNING! If the code differs, do not use the device.

.

8. Operation

(!) WARNING! Check strip integrity before use. Expired or damaged strips may cause inaccurate readings.

Opening individual strip package

Separate one test strip, tear open the package, and remove the covering over the contacts.

Inserting the test strip into meter

Insert the strip contacts-up into the slot fully, remove remaining packaging, and confirm the code matches the packaging.

Applying blood sample to test strip

Prick fingertip with a sterile lancet and touch the drop of blood to the strip edge.

Glucometer displaying result

Hold until the blinking symbol stops. After countdown, the reading appears (e.g., 4.8 mmol/L). Normal range (3.3–5.5 mmol/L) is shown with a smile symbol.

Removing used test strip

Remove the used strip. If the sample was insufficient, an error message will appear. Repeat with a new strip.

If results are <0.6 mmol/L or >35 mmol/L, repeat the test and consult a doctor if confirmed.

9. Setting Time and Date

Setting time and date menu on display

Turn on the meter with , then hold P to access settings. Adjust time and date with and P. Exit by holding P.

10. Viewing Results
