Equipped with a processor and an image sensor that enable high-quality video recording, the 70mai dash camera can be an ideal travel companion. Please read this user guide carefully before using the device.

Product Overview

Power Button

The device is equipped with a single multifunctional power button.

When the device is off
• Press to power on the device;

When the device is on
• Press to open / close the Wi-Fi access point;
• Press and hold to power off the device;
• Press 3 times to format the TF card;
• Press 5 times to restore default settings.

Indicator

The ring indicator is located on the outer edge of the power button.

The indicator has the following modes:
• Power-off mode. When the device is off, the indicator is also off.
• Continuous recording status. When the device is on, the indicator lights up. While the device is in different operating modes, the indicator color varies as follows:
• Green: recording normally;
• Blue: not in recording mode;
• Red: recording error.
• Slow-pulse status. When the indicator is on, regardless of color, the Wi-Fi access point is enabled if the indicator is in a slow-pulse state (slowly alternating bright and dim); the Wi-Fi access point is disabled if the indicator remains steadily lit.
• Blinking status. When the device is performing a temporary task, the indicator blinks throughout the task. The following temporary tasks exist:

Installation

1. Electrostatic film

Clean the windshield and place the electrostatic film in the recommended area, as shown in the figure below. Make sure you remove any air bubbles between the film and the glass.

2. Attach the camera holder to the windshield

Remove the protective cover from the mount and attach the mount base to the center of the electrostatic film. Ensure that the dash camera is parallel to the ground.

Press the holder to firmly secure it to the electrostatic film.

3. Connect the USB cable to the cigarette lighter socket

Route the cable along the upper edge of the windshield and secure it along the passenger side and glove compartment, as shown below. Connect the cable to the power adapter and insert the adapter into the cigarette lighter socket.

The cigarette lighter location may vary in your vehicle. The image is provided for reference only.

Voice Control

The 70mai dash camera supports voice control. When the dash camera is operating, you can control it using the following voice commands:

• Take photo: capture a photo.
• Record video: record a video clip and save it separately in the Events folder.
• Recording off: stop audio recording; the recorded video will be silent.
• Recording on: start audio recording, including in-cabin sound.
• Turn off Wi-Fi: disables the Wi-Fi access point on the dash camera.
• Turn on Wi-Fi: enables the Wi-Fi access point on the dash camera.

The voice control function does not operate in the following cases:

• The 70mai dash cam app has opened access to the device;
• The indicator is blinking.

Activating the 70mai Smart Dash Cam 1S for first-time use

Powering on the dash camera. When the dash camera boots for the first time, you will hear the voice prompt “70mai is starting up, please activate the device by connecting to a mobile phone.” At this time, the indicator shows a blue light. (If the indicator shows blue but remains steadily lit, press the power button to open the Wi-Fi access point on the dash camera.)

Using the app to connect to the dash camera.

1. Open the 70mai dash cam app and sign in to your account.
2. On the app’s home page, tap “Add new dash cam” and follow the instructions to set up the connection to your dash camera. The default password is 12345678.
3. When you hear the prompt “Please press the power button to authorize,” press the power button to accept the connection request from your mobile phone.
4. Upon the first connection to the dash camera in the app, you will see a new-user walkthrough. Please read it carefully to learn the essential operating skills and to adjust your camera angle.

App Functions

Home page

1. Device list.

If you have not added a dash camera, the device list is empty. Tap the “Add new” button or the “+” icon on the right side of the header to add a new dash camera. If you have added your dash camera, click the device image to proceed to the plugin page. If there is more than one dash camera in your device list, you can select another device by swiping the device image.

2. Check firmware update.

If new firmware is available, a red dot appears on the “Firmware update” button at the bottom of the home page. Tap “Firmware update” to check for updates. If there is a new firmware version, tap “Download” to download the update package to your mobile phone. When the update package has been downloaded, you need to go to the connected dash camera page to push the update package to your device. If your device is updated to the latest version, you may delete the update package by clicking the “delete” icon in the firmware update page header.

Connecting to the dash camera

Before entering the connection page, you must connect your mobile phone to the dash camera’s Wi-Fi access point. When you leave the plugin page, the connection will be terminated automatically.

1. Preview. Obtain a real-time preview from the dash camera. You can switch to full-size view by clicking the “enlarge” icon in the lower-right corner of the preview.

2. Take a photo. Tap the “Take photo” button to capture an image. When you hear the shutter sound and the voice prompt “The photo has been saved,” the photo has been taken and saved both to the camera album and to the mobile phone.

3. View the dash camera album. On the dash camera connection page, tap the “Album” icon to enter the device album. You can find videos and photos saved on the TF card. The device album contains three subfolders:

• Normal (videos)
• Events (videos)
• Photos

You can play back or download videos and photos by entering the respective list.

4. Change device settings. You can adjust device settings using the 70mai Dash Cam app. On the dash camera connection page, tap the “Device settings” icon to open the settings page. You can change the following device settings here:

5. Update package. If you have downloaded the latest firmware package, enter the plugin page and then click the “Get update” icon to transfer the update package to the dash camera. If no update package is available for transfer, the “Get update” icon is disabled. When the dash camera receives the update package, the indicator will show a blue blinking status, and recording will stop.

On the app’s home page, tap the “User” icon in the upper-left corner to enter the personal page.

1. Edit profile On the personal page you can change your avatar, nickname, name, and gender.
2. Manage your devices. You can also manage your devices here. You may add a new device and delete an existing device.
3. View app information. You can view the version, user agreement, and privacy terms in the personal center. If you have any questions about the app and the dash camera, please provide your feedback.

Video recording

Normal videos. Video length: 1 minute. Recording mode: Loop recording.

Event videos. Video length: 30 seconds for the current video. Recording mode: Loop recording.

Photos. Storage capacity: up to 300 photos. If the photo storage is full, you need to delete old photos manually to free up space.

Video storage

TF memory card requirements

Your dash camera supports a standard TF card from 16 GB to 64 GB with Class 10 speed or higher. Before use, make sure you format the TF card inside the dash camera.

Below is the amount of video that cards of different capacities can store:

All video recordings are overwritten starting from the oldest ones when the storage limit is reached. Ensure that you back up data to your phone or computer when an incident occurs.

TF cards can be damaged by continuous recording and erasing. In this case, replace the TF card if it no longer functions.

Make sure you use high-quality TF cards from reputable brands. The actual write speed and capacity of low-quality TF cards may be lower than stated. Videos may not be saved properly on low-quality TF cards. We assume no liability for such cases.

Before using a new TF card, format it inside the dash camera. We strongly recommend formatting the TF card once every 2 weeks; otherwise, your TF card may become too slow.

Do not insert or remove the TF card while the dash camera is operating.

TF card extraction

If the dash camera stops recording due to a TF card mismatch, the indicator shows red. The following mismatch conditions may occur:

1. TF card capacity is less than 8 GB;
2. TF card class is lower than 4;
3. The TF card is old;
4. The TF card has a slow write speed;
5. The TF card is not recognized;
6. There are files that were not generated by the device;
7. The TF card format is incorrect.

Power sources

Your dash camera is powered by the cigarette lighter socket. Use the original power cable and adapter to ensure a stable input power source. We are not responsible for any loss or damage caused by using power sources other than the cigarette lighter, or by using non-genuine power cables and adapters.

Some vehicles continue to supply power to the cigarette lighter after the engine is turned off. To avoid draining your car battery, press the power button to turn off your dash camera or unplug the adapter from the cigarette lighter socket. Do not forget to turn on the dash camera when you start your next trip. We are not responsible for any loss or damage caused by leaving the dash camera on when you leave the car.

Battery

The built-in battery of your dash camera is used only to save the last video file when the external power supply is disconnected. Do not use the dash camera without an external power source.

Do not remove the built-in battery yourself.

Stop using the device and contact after-sales service for assistance if you encounter any of the following: excessively high battery temperature; battery deformation; battery swelling; battery fluid leakage; or any other abnormal battery-related conditions.

Troubleshooting

Installation

The electrostatic film detaches

Clean the windshield, attach the electrostatic film to the glass, and remove air bubbles between the film and the windshield.

The adhesive on the holder is not sticky

Make sure the mount is attached to the center of the electrostatic film rather than to its edges.

Powering on

The camera does not operate

Make sure the adapter is firmly inserted into the cigarette lighter socket and the USB cable is properly connected. Ensure the vehicle engine is running and the cigarette lighter provides output power. If this does not help, press the “Reset” button on the bottom of the dash camera using a pin to restart it.

The camera restarts after powering on

Make sure you are using the original supplied accessories; unplug the adapter and insert it again.

The camera does not start recording after powering on

For first-time use, you must activate the dash camera using the 70mai app. The device does not record video if it is not activated. If the device does not start recording although it has already been activated, check whether your TF card meets the device requirements and ensure that you have formatted the TF card with the device before use.

The camera stops recording unexpectedly

Reformat the card or replace it.

Operation

Videos are blurry

Ensure that your windshield is clean and that the dash camera lens is not obstructed.

Audio is not recorded

To protect your privacy, audio recording is disabled by default. If you wish to record audio, enable audio recording in the device settings.

Video files are corrupted

Replace the TF card according to your needs.

The system time is incorrect

Please adjust the system time in the 70mai dash cam app after connecting your mobile phone to the device.

The device is unresponsive

Press the “Reset” button using a pin, or press and hold the “Power” button to turn off the dash camera, and then turn it on again.

Connecting to the device

Authorization failed

To protect your data, you will be prompted to press the power button to accept the connection request from your mobile phone when you add a new dash camera to the app. Ensure that you have performed this operation. If you have already added the dash camera to the app but receive the notification “Authorization failed,” delete the dash camera from the “My device” list and then add it again.

Unable to play video in the app

You may encounter compatibility issues. Please send your mobile phone’s brand, model, and system version in the “Feedback” section; we will provide you with an update solution.

Connecting to a computer

The camera is not detected

The USB cable supplied with the dash camera can be used only for charging. Use another data cable to transfer data to a computer.

Safety precautions

1. The 70MAI dash camera records video of the exterior of moving vehicles. It cannot protect drivers and passengers against any accidents. We will not be liable if the user is involved in any traffic accident and/or incurs any losses due to product failure, loss of information, or product operation.

2. Depending on the type of vehicle, driving preferences, environment, and other differences, parts of the product or the entire product may not operate normally under given circumstances. Recording may not function properly due to loss of external power supply, abnormal temperatures and/or humidity, collisions, TF card damage, and other possible reasons. We do not guarantee that all video can be fully saved in every situation. Images recorded by this product are provided for reference only.

3. Install the device correctly; do not obstruct the driver’s view or interfere with the airbag. Improper installation may lead to product failure and injury.

4. Keep this product away from strong magnetic fields to avoid damage.

5. Do not insert or remove the TF card while the product is operating in order to avoid damaging the TF card.

6. Use a TF card with a capacity from 16 to 64 GB, and a read/write speed not lower than Class 10. Format the TF card before use.

7. TF cards may be damaged after repeated use. Replace TF cards in a timely manner to ensure the ability to save video. We are not responsible for errors caused by TF cards.

8. The product may record and store footage of traffic accidents, but we do not guarantee that accident footage will always be recorded and stored. Sensors may not detect minor collisions; therefore, footage may not be saved among Event videos.

9. Do not use this product at temperatures above 60 °C or below -20 °C.

10. The battery may discharge if the device is not used for a long time. You may be prompted to reset the device time when you turn the device on again.

11. Do not shake or press on the device. Strong impact or vibration may cause irreparable damage to the product.

12. Do not clean this product with chemical solvents or detergents. Use this product in compliance with the law.
