VHF (very high frequency) radio spectrum range – frequencies from 30 to 300 megahertz. In radio transceiver specifications, this often refers to the 136–174 MHz portion of the spectrum.

The VHF band is one of the most versatile. Radio systems in this radio frequency band operate effectively both in rural areas and in urban environments. Compared with the Low Band range, it has less over-the-horizon propagation and therefore requires a significantly higher installation of a base antenna to increase communication range.
