Instructions and Answers for the 70mai Dash Cam M200
What power supply options does the dash cam support?
The 70mai M200 operates at 5 V, 2–2.4 A. The kit includes a cigarette lighter adapter designed for 12–24 V vehicle electrical systems. Power from a vehicle USB port is acceptable if the current is sufficient; unstable ports may cause improper operation.
Does the dash cam start automatically when the ignition is turned on?
Yes. When power is supplied, the 70mai M200 automatically starts recording without needing to press a button each time.
Are a smartphone and internet connection required for operation?
The 70mai app on a smartphone is required for initial setup. The connection is established over Wi-Fi created by the dash cam itself; no internet access is required. After setup, the device records autonomously.
Which application should be used and on which platforms is it available?
Use the 70mai application (including the “Worldwide” version). It is available in app stores for Android and iOS. The connection is made to the dash cam’s Wi-Fi access point; Bluetooth is not used.
.Are voice commands supported?
Yes, the 70mai M200 supports voice control in English. Russian-language commands are not available.
Is audio recording available and can it be disabled?
The device is equipped with a built-in microphone. Audio recording can be enabled or disabled in the 70mai app.
What is the power connector on the M200?
Early production batches of the 70mai M200 used micro-USB; recent batches use Type-C. Please verify the connector type according to the actual unit supplied.
Which memory cards are supported and what is the maximum capacity?
Recommended cards are microSDXC UHS-I U3 V30 from reputable brands. Supported capacity is from 16 to 128 GB. A card is not included and must be purchased separately.
Is a specific memory card speed required?
Yes. For stable video recording, use cards rated no lower than Class 10 / U3 / V30. Low-class cards or cards with unstable speed may cause recording errors and formatting prompts.
Is loop recording supported and is manual card cleaning required?
The 70mai M200 records in a loop: when storage is full, older clips are overwritten automatically. Manual formatting is only required in case of memory card errors.
Is a parking mode supported and what is required for its operation?
Yes, the M200 supports parking mode. To activate it, a 70mai UP02 hardwire kit is required, connected to the vehicle electrical system according to the ACC/VCC/GND scheme. When powered via the cigarette lighter by default, parking mode is unavailable.
Does it have a motion sensor and a G-sensor?
The M200 does not have a motion sensor. Events are captured through loop recording, with important clips saved manually or under other conditions. Information on the presence of a G-sensor in shipped M200 batches is not available in the source data and is therefore not claimed.
Can I view and download videos to a phone without removing the card?
Yes. In the 70mai app, open “Album,” connect to the dash cam’s Wi-Fi, and download the required files to the smartphone.
Can the M200 be powered directly from a head unit/vehicle USB port?
It is possible if the port consistently supplies 5 V and 2–2.4 A. Ports intended only for flash drives or with low current output may operate unstably.
Does it have GPS and record speed/coordinates?
No. The 70mai M200 is not equipped with a GPS module and does not record speed or coordinates.
Can a second camera or a rear-view camera be connected?
No, the 70mai M200 does not support additional cameras and records only the front view.
How is the dash cam mounted, and can it be re-mounted?
Mounting is via 3M adhesive tape using an electrostatic film (included). For reinstallation, the film can be carefully repositioned while avoiding contamination; the adhesive tape is recommended to be replaced.
What is the operating temperature range?
Factory tests were conducted approximately from ?10 to +60 °C. Operation outside this range is not regulated and may depend on operating conditions.
Will the M200 operate without a phone and internet access?
Yes. After initial setup in the application, the dash cam automatically records video when power is supplied and does not require a constant connection to a smartphone or the internet.
.Can the device be powered from a “fast charger” (QC/PD)?
Not recommended. If the port raises the voltage to 9–12 V (QC, PD), overheating or damage may occur. Use 5 V with a current of 2–2.4 A.
How much recording time fits on a memory card?
The duration depends on the selected quality and bitrate. As a reference: the larger the capacity, the longer the loop history. Approximate values in the source data were provided only for another model; therefore, accurate time for the M200 is not stated.
Can two phones control and view the camera?
The device can be added to the application on multiple smartphones, but connections are made one at a time: simultaneous operation of two phones with one camera is not supported.
How does the M200 differ from the M310?
The 70mai M310 records in 2K QHD (2304x1296), supports cards up to 256 GB, and is usually supplied with a Type-C connector. The 70mai M200 records in 1080p (HDR), supports cards up to 128 GB, and uses micro-USB in early batches and Type-C in later ones. Other features depend on the version and batch.
Does recording continue with the engine off without a hardwire kit?
No. Operation while parked requires the UP02 hardwire kit and the corresponding parking mode settings. When powered from the cigarette lighter in standard mode, the dash cam turns off when power is removed.
Why does the app show “Wi-Fi without internet access”?
This is normal: the 70mai access point is intended solely for communication between the phone and the dash cam and does not require internet access.
