By pressing the button, the operating mode is selected in the following sequence: AUTO (Automatic), COOL (Cooling), DRY (Dehumidification), HEAT (Heating), FAN (Ventilation). The corresponding mode symbols are displayed on the remote control screen:

Ballu YKR-K/002E Remote Control Modes

(!) NOTE
When AUTO mode (AUTOMATIC OPERATION MODE) is selected, the set temperature will not be displayed. Depending on the room temperature, the air conditioner will automatically start cooling or heating, creating comfortable conditions for the user.

3 SPEED (FAN SPEED SELECTION)

By pressing the SPEED button, the fan speed changes in the following sequence:

AUTO – High – Medium – Low.

The corresponding fan speed indication is displayed on the screen:

AUTO – LOW – MID – HIGH.

In AUTO mode, the fan speed is set automatically depending on the difference between the set temperature and the ambient temperature.

4 TEMPERATURE SETTING BUTTON ▲

Used to increase the temperature. To increase the temperature, press the ▲ button. Continuous pressing and holding of the ▲ button for more than 2 seconds allows increasing the temperature in accelerated mode. In AUTO mode, the temperature adjustment function is not available. Temperature adjustment range: 16–32 °C.

5 TEMPERATURE SETTING BUTTON ▼

Used to decrease the temperature. Continuous pressing and holding of the ▼ button for more than 2 seconds allows decreasing the temperature in accelerated mode. In AUTO mode, the temperature adjustment function is not available.

6 SLEEP (NIGHT MODE)

Used to enable or cancel NIGHT MODE. After turning on the unit, the night mode function must be activated. After turning off the unit or pressing the SLEEP button again, the NIGHT MODE function will be canceled. When NIGHT MODE is set, SLEEP will be displayed on the remote control screen. The TIMER function may be applied in this mode. In AUTO and SPEED modes, this function is not available.

7 CLEAN

With the remote control switched off, press the CLEAN button. The louvers will return to their initial position, and the air conditioner will start the cleaning function. The maximum operating duration of this function is 35 minutes. This function is intended to clean dust from the evaporator and remove water inside the evaporator.

The function prevents mold formation and unpleasant odor.

To turn off the function, press the CLEAN button again or the ON/OFF button, or the CLEAN function will stop automatically after 35 minutes.

(!) NOTE
ABOUT THE CLEAN FUNCTION.
The CLEAN function is required to remove moisture from the surface of the evaporator and the internal cavities of the unit. Removing moisture prevents the appearance and growth of bacteria and mold. In CLEAN mode (evaporator blowing function), the fan automatically rotates at low speed.

.
8 STRONG (INTENSIVE MODE)

In COOL and HEAT modes, pressing the STRONG button enables/disables INTENSIVE MODE. When switching modes or increasing/decreasing the fan speed, the INTENSIVE MODE function automatically turns off.

(!) NOTE
ABOUT THE STRONG FUNCTION
After activating this function, the fan will rotate at maximum speed to achieve the set temperature in the shortest possible time.

9 SCREEN (INDOOR UNIT DISPLAY LIGHTING)

By pressing the SCREEN button, you can turn the INDOOR UNIT DISPLAY on or off. After switching off the unit, the SCREEN function must be activated again.

10 TIMER button

Setting the ON time.

With the remote control turned off, press the TIMER button. TIMER ON and the timer time will be displayed on the screen. The time setting range varies from 0.5 h to 24 h.

11,12 SWING and SWING2 (POSITION OF VERTICAL AND HORIZONTAL LOUVERS)

By pressing the SWING and SWING2 buttons, you can adjust the position of the vertical and horizontal louvers of the indoor unit at the desired angle.

If the SWING or SWING2 button is pressed, the louvers will start oscillating, then if pressed again, the position of the louvers will be fixed in the selected position.

13 FEELING button

The set air temperature is maintained not at the location of the indoor unit, but near the remote control (close to the user), which provides the most comfortable climatic conditions.

14 HEALTH button

This button is used to switch the air ionization function on or off.

When enabled, the corresponding indicator will appear on the remote control screen.

To turn it off, press the (HEALTH) button again.

The ionizer installed in the indoor unit generates negatively charged particles (anions).

Scientific research has confirmed the beneficial effect of ions on human health: strengthening immunity, improving tone, reducing fatigue, improving the course of certain diseases, improving psychological condition, healthy sleep, significant reduction of bacteria and fungi in the room, and partial removal of dust (suspended microparticles). The air ionizer also neutralizes electrostatic fields on clothing, plastic objects, and linoleum.

15 FUNGUSPROOF

This air conditioner has a special drying and mold protection function that can be enabled or disabled.

This function is controlled by the remote control in cooling, drying, and automatic modes. Before shutting down, the indoor unit fan operates for three minutes, delivering a weak airflow.

This function is aimed at preventing mold formation on the evaporator due to water accumulation and the spread of unpleasant odor.

(!) NOTE
This function is not a factory default setting.
Setup method: with the air conditioner and remote control turned off, point the remote control at the air conditioner and press the FUNGUSPROOF button once. A five-time audible signal will sound. Once this function is set, except when the air conditioner is disconnected from the power supply or this function is manually disabled, it will operate by default.

To disable this function:
With the air conditioner and remote control turned off, point the remote control at the air conditioner and press the FUNGUSPROOF button once.

When this function is enabled, it is recommended not to turn on the air conditioner again until it has completely stopped.

A five-time audible signal will sound.

Sequence of air conditioner operation in different modes

• In cooling or heating mode, the air conditioner maintains the set temperature with an accuracy of ±1 °C. If the set temperature in cooling mode is more than 1 °C higher than the ambient temperature, the air conditioner will operate in ventilation mode.

• If the set temperature in heating mode is more than 1 °C lower than the ambient temperature, the air conditioner will operate in ventilation mode. In AUTO mode, the temperature is not manually adjustable; the air conditioner automatically maintains a comfortable temperature of 25±2 °C. At 20 °C, the air conditioner will automatically start heating mode. At 26 °C, the air conditioner will automatically start cooling mode.

• In DRY (dehumidification) mode, the air conditioner maintains the set temperature with an accuracy of ±2 °C. If at startup the room temperature is more than 2 °C higher than the set value, the air conditioner will operate in cooling mode.

• When the temperature falls more than 2 °C below the set value, the compressor and outdoor unit fan stop, while the indoor unit fan rotates at low speed.

• In SLEEP* mode during cooling operation, after the first hour of operation, the set temperature is automatically increased by 1 °C, after the second hour – by another 1 °C. After that, the set temperature remains unchanged.

• In SLEEP* mode during heating operation, after the first hour of operation, the set temperature is automatically decreased by 2 °C, after the second hour – by another 2 °C. After that, the set temperature remains unchanged.

.

In this case, an automatic defrosting of the outdoor unit is provided. At first startup, after the first hour of operation, the defrost function will be activated automatically.

The heating operation will be interrupted for 5–15 minutes to perform the defrost operation.

• The fans of the indoor and outdoor units are stopped.

• During defrosting, the outdoor unit may release a certain amount of steam. This is due to the accelerated defrosting process and is not a malfunction.

• After the defrosting process is completed, the heating operation will resume.
