Warm Start (Hot Start) Function in Heating Mode
Purpose of the Function
The Warm Start (Hot Start) function is designed to improve comfort when switching the air conditioner to heating mode. In a standard scenario, after initiating heating, the indoor unit fan may start immediately, which can result in a short burst of unheated air entering the room, reducing comfort.
Operating Principle
When the Warm Start function is active, the indoor unit’s fan remains off until the heat exchanger reaches a predefined minimum temperature. Once this threshold is met, the fan activates and begins delivering warm air into the room.
Application Scope
The Warm Start function is used exclusively in heating mode. It is particularly beneficial when rapid and comfortable room heating is required without the initial discomfort of cold airflow. In most modern models, this function is activated automatically and does not require manual adjustment.
Advantages
- Eliminates discomfort from cold airflow at the beginning of heating;
- Automates fan activation based on heat exchanger temperature;
- Maintains stable temperature from the start of operation;
- Improves energy efficiency through optimized fan startup.
Technical Features
The function’s algorithm may include continuous monitoring of the heat exchanger temperature via built-in sensors. When the set threshold is reached, the system initiates the fan without user involvement. Activation parameters and temperature thresholds may vary depending on the model and class of climate equipment.
