Automatic air conditioner operation control based on indoor illumination levels

LIGHT / LIGHT SENSATION Function: Air Conditioner Control Depending on Illumination

General Description of the Function

The LIGHT SENSATION function is designed for automatic control of the air conditioner’s operation based on the indoor illumination level. Its main purpose is to create the most comfortable conditions for rest and sleep by reducing the fan speed and turning off bright indicators in low light conditions.

Operating Principle

The built-in illumination sensor, located either on the remote control or the indoor unit, detects a decrease in lighting levels in the room. If there is no lighting for a set period (usually about 20 minutes), the system automatically switches to a reduced indoor fan speed mode. This reduces noise levels and prevents excessive air movement.

When lighting is restored within a similar time interval, the air conditioner reverts to the previously set fan parameters. This algorithm is particularly relevant during nighttime operation or when a strong airflow is undesirable.

More advanced control is based on the use of the INTELLIGENT EYE motion sensor.

Activation and Control

To activate the LIGHT SENSATION function, follow these steps:

To deactivate the function, repeat the above procedure.

Additional Features

Some air conditioner models may interpret the LIGHT function as turning the indoor unit display backlight on or off. When activated, this function enables decorative or functional lighting, and when activated again, it turns the lighting off.

The LIGHT SENSATION function may also include automatic display dimming and disabling of sound signals, which is particularly important at night or in situations with high noise control requirements.

Purpose and Advantages

Using illumination-based control offers the following benefits:

Thus, the LIGHT / LIGHT SENSATION function represents an intelligent solution for adapting the performance parameters of climate control equipment to changing illumination conditions indoors.
