Quiet Operation Function of Air Conditioner (MUTE / SILENT / QUIET Mode)
Purpose and Operating Principle
The quiet operation function (MUTE mode) is designed to reduce the noise level during air conditioner operation by lowering the fan speed of the indoor unit and disabling audible signals. When the mode is activated, the indoor unit operates at the minimum speed, ensuring the quietest possible performance. This is especially useful at night or when high acoustic comfort is required.
Activation and Deactivation of MUTE (QUIET) Mode
To enable the mode, press the MUTE
button on the remote control. The corresponding icon
will appear on the remote's display, indicating the mode is active. Pressing the MUTE button again will disable the quiet mode.
Activation may require holding the button for several seconds, depending on the device model. In this case, the fan speed automatically switches to the minimum level, indicated as the automatic rotation mode on the remote control display.
Features of MUTE / SILENT / QUIET Mode Operation
When MUTE mode is active:
- The indoor unit fan operates at the lowest speed.
- The compressor continues to operate at the set temperature, providing the required cooling or heating without increasing noise.
- Audible signals accompanying remote control button presses are disabled or muted.
Limitations of the Function
The quiet operation mode is unavailable in the following cases:
- In DRY mode.
- When FAN, TURBO, or SLEEP modes are activated — enabling any of these will automatically deactivate MUTE mode.
- In some devices, the mode may be unavailable in AUTO mode or other preset automatic algorithms.
(!) WARNING! In Mute / Silent mode, the cooling capacity of the air conditioner may decrease. If the cooling performance is insufficient to maintain a comfortable indoor temperature, disable Silent mode (this mode is optional and may not be available in your equipment model).
Usage Recommendations
The quiet operation function is recommended in the following situations:
- During nighttime rest, when minimal noise levels are required.
- In rooms with high acoustic sensitivity, such as bedrooms, children's rooms, or work offices.
- When it is necessary to temporarily reduce fan activity without changing the set temperature.
Technical Notes
The remote control display shows an indication of the automatic fan speed mode. Design features, interface, and logic of the remote control operation may vary depending on the specific air conditioner model. To correctly use all functions, it is recommended to read the device's user manual in advance.
